Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the United States. She is known for her roles in film and television since the late 1980s she's won numerous awards like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was brought up in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt, who was born at New York New York, is an acclaimed actor. Bassett as well as her younger sister who were about five years old, moved away from the city of their birth to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. When she was in high school Bassett was a spectator of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided that she wanted to become an actor. In 1980, Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with the degree of African American studies. She earned a diploma from the Yale School of Drama. She was married in 1997. was married Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's on African American studies in the year 1980.
